Blog 10: What does a parent expects from a Ride on Toy ----- and more importantly - what does the child need from the toy?

Introduction: Various Toys are available for different age groups.  A distinction can be made between toys meant for age groups 0-3 years and above.

So what are the needs of a child that has just learnt to walk?

As toddler’s activities are most likely to be indoors - it is probable there will be limited floor space.  The child will want to use all the available floor space.

Solution : -  4WD is compact in design can be enjoyed  efficiently indoors.    Optimal size and low space requirement make riding 4wd indoors fun.

4WD has the lowest turning radius, so that it can be manoeuvred in very small crowded spaces.  With 4WD the wheels are designed especially for this purpose.

4WD requires little effort from the child to stop, start and turn.

With 4WD - the steering handle is fixed;  it is only there for support.  The ride- on is steered with the aid of leg movement.

Play time : -  Toddlers do not have a schedule to follow.  They want to be able to play with their toy whenever they like.  4WD helps increase their independence. The seat of the 4WD is just knee high so then can get on the ride-on and start playing without any help.

The ride-on toy should be easy to move.

4WD has a super smooth wheel action which is achieved by efficient design and manufacture.

The wheels grip the floor and give stability. This super smooth action is achieved through design and engineering. No ball bearings are used

Stability with speed - As the child gets more confident on the ride-on they want to go faster!

With this in mind the wheels have been designed to provide a stable and smooth movement to ensure safety even when the child is going as fast as they can.

We have discussed in detail all the different reasons why a parent chooses a particular ride-on toy:

price, size, appearance, characterisation or favourite licensed character, maybe the flashing lights buzzers, bells and ringers -  these are all factors .

The most important consideration however when making your choice is none of the above.

The questions to ask are: – is the toy suitable and appropriate for the age and stage of your child?

Will the toy satisfy the key needs and requirements a child will have for that particular type of toy?

With 4WD the answer to both is Yes.
